The Bass Class

This class is designed to help you build up a solid foundation to grow your bass fishing future.

Your instructors, Ross England and Jim Dowdy are friends and team tournament partners who have over 40 years of bass fishing experience. Between their tournament success and guiding they spend a total of 350 days a year on Clear Lake. They qualify as expert bass fishermen. What makes them different is that both have a strong training background from their current or former professional lives so they know the subject and know how to deliver it.

The class will cover the following areas of interest:
bass biology, how water temperature impacts bass, how bass respond to the seasons, how to locate bass, the strike zone, and how to get them to bite.

We also cover the equipment used for bass fishing. Powers and actions of rods, how to properly match rods and reels, how to adjust and tune your reels to get the most out of them, casting technique for distance and accuracy, and which lines to use and why.

Finally, we will cover presentations and techniques that we use and know to be successful for both more and bigger fish. From plastic worms to swim baits we will cover when you use which and why.

We are confident that after attending this class you will be better prepared to not only catch more fish but larger ones as well.

The class size is small, limited to 8 to allow us to keep the entire event personal and interactive. We know there will be many questions and we have created the environment to encourage lots of interaction.

If you have always wanted to know how to find bass and then how to catch them, this is your class. Of course, the information we share will be slightly tilted to Clear Lake, but we promise it will transfer well to your home body of water too!
